After a long and tiring trip with a stop for an overnight's stay in Anchorage, the 3 European artists and the one from California arrived May the first in Cordova.
After dropping off our luggage at Eyak House, we explored the surroundings by our 8 person's van.
Many aah's and oohs, and a wonderful welcome dinner with introductions in the evening by our hosts; Eyak leader, Dune Lankard and project coordinator, David Grimes.
The next morning our first outing was to the muskeg (peat bog) over the village. A fascinating 'bonsai landscape' with mountain Hemlock (Tsuga mertensiana).
Unfortunately, the painters were interrupted several times by showers and till now, May the third, it's often too wet to paint outside.
